It’s that time of the year again when we welcome a new leadership team to the BNI Nexus top table and say goodbye to our outgoing president, vice-president, and secretary.

A massive thankyou to Robin Young (President), Mike Stark (Vice-President), and Martin Duffy (Secretary treasurer) for their hard work over the past 52 weeks. These three have done a truly exceptional job in their respective roles and set an incredibly high bar for the incoming replacements, overseeing record highs in terms of both turnover and new members.

A high bar then, but one we are more than confident that our new leadership team will continue to raise considering huge role in the growth of BNI Nexus to this point.

We are delighted to announce David Walker as the new president of BNI, with Fraser Kelly supporting him as Vice-President, and Andy Hart taking up the role of secretary treasurer.

Changing the top table year on year helps to keep things fresh and has been a formula that has served BNI Nexus very well over the years. After a year of overseeing meetings and the stress of dealing with some of Scotland’s most exuberant businesspeople, 52 weeks is also more than enough time at the top table for most!

Congratulations to David, Fraser, and Andy on their new appointments and we look forward to seeing where BNI Nexus will go next under your expert guidance.

A Huge Thankyou to The Outgoing Team

Anyone who takes on the task of keeping the members at BNI Nexus in check for a whole twelve months deserves a big round of applause, but a special mention must go to the outgoing leadership team this time around.

Robin, Mike, and Martin oversaw one of the most successful years in BNI Nexus history during their time at the helm, with annual turnover peaking at an exceptional £6.9m and never dropping below the £6m mark. They also oversaw unprecedented growth in membership numbers with a record 38 members now a part of Scotland’s best business network.

To make sure that standards never slip at BNI Nexus we track referral value on a rolling basis, rather than at year’s end, making it much easier to spot a poor month and make adjustments on the fly.

Thanks to the hard work of all our brilliant members, under the watchful eye of the board, it has very much been a case of keep up the good work in recent times, with new members injecting fresh perspectives and networking opportunities at the perfect time throughout the year.

The consistently exceptional value of referrals delivered by members of BNI Nexus over the past decade and beyond means there is no room for complacency, and any drop-off will stick out like a sore thumb.

Getting our top-table appointments right plays a big part in ensuring this never happens and we are extremely confident that this year’s crop are more than up for the task.

Robin has been a member of BNI Nexus for well over 20 years and is universally trusted and respected across the group. With Fraser and Andy’s support there is no doubt that we are in for an exciting 2024/25 full of new records and exciting business opportunities!
