Milestones were on the menu at this weeks BNI Nexus meeting as two of our chapters longest serving members celebrated their latest landmark moments.

David Walker has officially reached a remarkable 25 years of networking as a BNI member, and was rightfully recognised for this impressive achievement with an engraved flask and a hearty round of applause.

Robin Young’s milestone was slightly more bittersweet as he announced his departure from BNI after a fabulous 15 years in our group. Robin recently announced his intention to retire and we sent him off in style, with many a fond memory shared by fellow and ex members alike.

David Walker – 25 Years at BNI

Anyone who puts up with us for 25 years deserves a drink, a with an engraved commemorative flask gifted in recognition of his contribution over the years, David will be having his in style!

David has been one of the most active and committed members of BNI Nexus since before the turn of the century and remains just as integral to our group today. He regularly tops the referral charts and is always willing to share the wealth of business experience he has gathered over his 30+ year career in mortgage and life brokerage.

A big BNI Nexus congratulations to David, and we look forward to many more years of collaboration, laughter and conversations to come.

Goodbye to Robin Young

Robin Young said goodbye to our group this week after over 15 fantastic years with BNI Nexus.

Robin has made the decision to retire after a highly distinguished career in financial advice and insurance brokerage, and is looking forward to some well earned adventures in the years to come.

Having been a stalwart of our BNI chapter for so many years, we are all sad to see Robin say farewell and there were plenty of moving tributes from members and ex-members alike as he was given his grand send off.

Robin’s wit and warm sense of humour made him incredibly popular at BNI and his absence will be sorely missed going forward.

Robin will always be welcomed back to BNI Nexus with open arms and we hope to see him again soon. That’s if he can squeeze us in to his busy schedule as he embarks on his new senior golf career!

Our older heads are integral to the continued success of BNI Nexus as Scotland’s most prolific business networking group, with over £6m passed between members in the past year alone.

However, we haven’t achieved so much success over the years without embracing change. We are always on the look out for top business people to add to our group, but with only one space available per industry, it takes someone special to become a new member.
