Death of The Networker?

Did you ever attend a networking group or are you even a member of a networking group ? If the answer to either of these questions is yes then what do you do now with COVID 19 we can only go out for exercise and food. Many of us have had to shut up shop and work from home which is fine if you are in a profession that can operate in this manner. However many of the trades who are non essential and who want to safe guard their loved ones are unable to operate. This has financial and mental health issues which are not uncommon in the self employed arena but in these difficult times the effect is multiplied many times over.

However there is help out there and I am not taking about Doctors or Councillors, BNI is the largest networking group in the world has been around for 20 plus years and is assisting many SMES through this torrid time.

Not them again I hear you say that mob with their Flip Charts and pop up banners, Name badges and ribbons ! Well yes actually that mob. BNI has developed an on line meeting platform in the space of a few weeks to combat the challenges that Corona virus has thrown at networking and in particular SMES. We at Nexus are one of the Largest BNI groups in the West of Scotland we turnover in excess of £3m of business per annum and we like every other small business in the UK have struggled to cope with the changes that have been thrust upon us.

However thanks to the BNI Directors we are now fully operational on a weekly on Line networking platform and we are also on 1-2-1 on line chats with our fellow members during the week. We may not be passing the same levels of business as we did previously but we are there for support and only this week one of our members shouted out for help with a local charity to provide masks if possible. Numerous members came up with innovative solutions and if this charity can save one Childs life then all our Networking will have been for a great cause.
